If you had your breast augmentation done in Plastic Surgery Center you do not have to worry about changing it preventively!

Breast size is important to many women. Some individuals feel that small breasts not only limit their fashion choices, but can also cause dissatisfaction with body image. Breast augmentation to increase fullness and projections of the breasts improves the balance in a woman‘s figure and can enhance her self-image and self-confidence.

Breast augmentation is the surgical placement of breast implants to increase fullness and projection of the breast or to improve symmetry of the breasts. Clinically referred to as augmentation mammaplasty, the procedure is used cosmetically to:

• Enlarge a naturally small breast, most commonly the result of heredity
• Restore breast volume lost following pregnancy, as a result of breast – feeding or due to wigth loss
• Achieve better symmetry when breasts are moderately disproportionate in size and shape

Breast augmentation incisions can be made in three places:

• below the breast
• across the nipple
• across the axilla.

The implant can be placed below the gland of the breast or the greater muscle of the chest. In the case of breast slip, during the same surgery  breast lift can be performed as well as asymmetry of breasts be fixed.

The duration of the surgery is 2 hours.  Drains inside the implant (vacuum tubes through which the accumulated liquids effuse) are kept for two days. The sutures are taken off after 8 – 10 days. The breasts are usually swollen for 2-3 months and a special bra that holds the breast tight is needed.  The patients are usually fit for job after 5 days.
